GameplayMechanicsGearRigs

**Rigs are the entire collection of equipment of Starlite that is equipped on their person.

Armor

There are two values of Armor: Total Armor and Section Armor. Total Armor is used most often in reducing damage and is the sum of all Armor from Armor Sections. Section Armor is only used to reduce the damage of Precision Attacks. There are 3 Armor Sections: Head, Body and Legs.

  • Armor Resistances ^cb5d2a

    • All Rig Sections have a set of Resistances to each damage type called a Resistance Array. Based on the damage type, Armor can be increased or decreased based on resistances.

    • There are 7 Damage types, as they appear in the order in the Array: Slash, Blunt, Pierce, Fire, Ice, Arcane, Lightning ^441a0c

  • Armor Rating ^9ff1d2

    • When an attack doesn’t penetrate armor, apply Damage Reduction based on the armor rating.

      • Clothing DR = 15% ^22307c
      • Light Armor DR =  30% ^2c3018
      • Medium Armor DR = 50% ^1ad754
      • Heavy Armor DR = 75% ^5c6f68

Damage Calculation

Damage is calculated by a series of steps

Effective Armor = Target Armor * Resistance Rating + Armor Bonuses Armor Piercing = Attack Penetration + Extra Bonuses Final Damage = Attack Damage if Penetrated, Attack Damage * Armor DR if Effective Armor > Armor Piercing

Dual Damage

Sometimes attacks damage through multiple ways. When an attack has two element types, their damage is calculated separately and then combined as Final Damage. e.g. Flame Slash

  • 60% Slash + 40% Fire
  • 20 Dmg, 12 Pen
  • Target Armor = Medium, 15, +2 against Slash, -3 against Fire
  • Attack Dmg = 12 Slash dmg + 8 Fire dmg
  • Final Dmg = (12 * 0.5) + 8 = 14 dmg
